Vanessa Carranza, PharmD
Associate Director of Clinical Education
Dr. Carranza was born and raised in Miami, Florida. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Biological Sciences and a minor in Spanish language from The University of Delaware in 2012. She attained her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from The University of Kentucky College of Pharmacy in May of 2016. She joined CEC in 2016, serving as the clinical lead for a variety of CE initiatives, assisting expert faculty in the development of clinical content for national symposia, regional series, multi-city dinner series, and online enduring activities. Dr. Carranza has greatest interest in educational topics related to oncology, with most recent CE experience in ovarian, lung, and hematologic cancers, and in topics related to biomarker testing, cancer disparities, and immunotherapies. She also has had extensive experience in statistical outcome analysis of CEC educational initiatives and in the development of educational design. In 2020, she developed and presented a poster at the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) Annual Meeting, which demonstrated the impact of live education on knowledge and competence of genetic counselors’. Dr. Carranza is currently a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO).
