Dr. Glitza is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Melanoma Medical Oncology at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, TX. She is a clinician specialized in the care of patients with advanced stage melanoma.

Dr. Glitza is the director of the Melanoma Leptomeningeal Disease Research Program and has helped build an infrastructure conducive to obtaining serial cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) and blood samples in patients undergoing treatment for elucidate biomarkers of response and resistance, and to better understand the microenvironment within the CSF. As part of this effort, Dr. Glitza has been working closely with different departments within and outside of MD Anderson Cancer Center.

Dr. Glitza is involved in the development of protocols in melanoma for patients with brain metastases, which is an unmet clinical need in stage IV melanoma patients. She has an interest in translational immunotherapy with a focus on understanding mechanisms leading to toxicities and their management, as well as exploring the role of the gut microbiome on patient outcomes.
